Dyanmics 365 Work Breakdown Structure Series: Part One - Fundamentals

Join us on Thursday, April 26th at 11am PDT as we begin our Series on the Work Breakdown Structure in Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations.

A Work Breakdown Structure or WBS is a description of the work that will be done for a project. It’s a ranking of tasks that represents the project team’s understanding of the composition of work along with the size, cost, and duration of each element or task.

Building a WBS is a comprehensive process requiring information and collaboration from multiple sources.  In this webinar, we will show you how a Work Breakdown Structure can help you gain greater insights into project costs as well as allow project managers to schedule resources on their projects.

Whether you use a Work Breakdown Structure to get an approximation of the size of a project or to track the progress of that project in detail, you can use the WBS enhancements in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to meet your requirements for estimates and tracking.

In Part One of our Series on the WBS, our Senior Solution Architect, Rob Fitzpatrick, will cover these Fundamentals:

  • Dive into the setup of the Work Breakdown Structure including the use of templates
  • Use a WBS to describe the composition of work to be done on a project down to the task level
  • Learn how the Work Breakdown Structure can be used to estimate the cost of each task to be completed
  • Use a WBS to schedule the project work

Part Two of our Work Breakdown Series - Resource Management is scheduled for June 21st and more information will be available soon.
